Notes:
Living in Blue Mound at the time of her marriage. (Is that where marriage took place?)
Obituary of Mary Davis Knox:
Mrs. Amy Jane Knox was born Oct. 26, 1859 at Plymouth, Carroll Co, MO. In this community she grew to yound womanhood. She was married to Robert L. Knox Oct. 17, 1883. Shortly after their marriage they made their home in the Blue Mound community and this they have always called home. They were the parents of six children. One passed away in infancy, a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Simmons has been deceased several years. Two sons, John and Harvey, passed away in early manhood. The two children who survive are Raymond of Kansas City and Mrs. Elva Mantzey of Dawn, where Mrs. Knox has been for months and where she passed away. There are eight grandchildren bereft of a grandmother. The deceased is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Mary Kern-Washington and Mrs. Hettie Gibbons, two brothers, Edward Davis Kansas City and Harvey Davis of Blue Mound.
Early in life Mrs. Knox confessed her faith in Christ and united with the Christian Church at Blue Mound. She was an interested and faithful member until her health failed. It was always a regret to her that she could not be in her Lord`s house to worship. It was a part of her life. She was of a gracious and queenly disposition and to know her was to admire her. During her long illness she was so patient and easy to do for, not hard to suit. Bro. Knox and the Mantzey family found joy in doing for her. She was so appreciative of every kindness shown and avery act of ministry. On June 8, 1933, she passed away and entered into the life that is free from sickness and pain. She died in the faith in which she had lived all her life."
