Their homeplace in Blue Mound, MO is a neat and comfortable one. Mr. P. has always been either a Whig or Republican in polities. During the war he was a Union man, and his son, John R., was a Federal soldier and was captured at Franklin, Tenn., and afterwards starved to death at Andersonville.
