In 1784 Joseph, an Irishman, came to Thomas Amis` farm and engaged in helping him and fell in love with his daughter and they were married shortly thereafter.

Joseph married Mary McAMIS, F, daughter of Thomas McAMIS, M & Alice GALE, F.
